Irina Yurjevna Makurina has been working at the Department of Foreign Languages of Chelyabinsk Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation since 1996. In 1999 she took the position of the senior instructor, and in 2010 – the position of the assistant professor.

During the period of work she has defended her candidate’s thesis on Pedagogy successfully, now she puts into practice the most effective and valid methods and techniques of Teaching English for Specific Purposes as her students are future militia officers. Irina Makurina is a permanent participator of various scientific and methodological conferences of different levels. She regularly works out academic programs, textbooks and teaching materials (more than 14 published items). She has become an active member of Chelyabinsk and Chelyabinsk Region English Languages Teachers Association since 2008. Studying the possibilities of using multimedia products and Internet-recourses at English classes and during extracurricular activities at non-linguistic departments, methods of problem language teaching are her professional interests nowadays.

Married with two sons, prefers to spend her spare time in active manner:  travelling, hiking, doing sports.
